HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The streak of warm weather ends today, as a cold front that passed on Thursday brings cooler weather today. Expect highs to only be in the 50s around the Local4 viewing area - which will still be above average for this time of year. We’ll see a mix of clouds and sun today. As skies become overcast tonight, we’ll see low temperatures drop into the 30s with a few lower 40s in North Central Kansas and some upper 20s in Northern Nebraska.

With clouds skies, there will be a slight chance of light rain or sprinkles that move in from the southwest. Much of the area will pick up very little beneficial moisture though. It might be cold enough for snow in the morning, but even if some flakes fly, no accumulation is expected. Light rain may linger into Saturday night, favoring Eastern Nebraska. Saturday will be a cooler day with highs in the mid to upper 40s and lower 50s. The warmest temperatures will likely be to the northwest with the lowest chance for rain and also a chance for a little afternoon sunshine. Lows Saturday night will drop back into the mid to upper 20s and low to mid 30s.

Sunshine returns on Sunday along with some breezy winds northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph. Despite more sunshine, it will only be a little warmer on Sunday with highs in the upper 40s northwest and lower 50s southeast.

The chance for rain showers will increase going into Monday. The chance will get better as the day progresses. This is not a guarantee of rain though as some forecast models hold off until Monday night. Monday night will be the best chance for showers through our entire forecast. Some showers may linger into Tuesday morning, but most should be to the east by sunrise. Showers will clear out through the morning and the afternoon should be dry. Along with the increasing chance for rain Monday will come some very strong south southeasterly winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts over 35 mph. High temperatures Monday will range from the mid 40s east to around 60° out west. Tuesday will feature highs similar to Sunday in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Wednesday will be a nicer day as sunshine returns. High temperatures will mostly be in the mid to upper 50s and lower 60s. Winds will be breezy. Temperatures may trend just a little cooler for Thanksgiving Thursday with partly cloudy skies. It’ll be a decent day with highs in the mid 40s northwest to mid 50s southeast. Black Friday may be the coolest day of the next week and a half. Highs will mostly be in the 40s on Friday.
