Weeklong mask distribution taking part in Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Heartland United Way is teaming up with the Nebraska Extension in Hall County and businesses to distribute face masks during a weeklong mask distribution.
The distribution will be from Monday, November 30 through Friday, December 4. It will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at a different location each day in Grand Island.
Monday: La Mexicana Market – 385 N Pine St.
Tuesday: Tacos Los Hermanos – 602 W 4th St.
Wednesday: Millan’s Market – 124 W 4th St.
Thursday: Super Acapulco – 317 S Locust St.
Friday: Sanchez Plaza – 218 S Wheeler Ave.
Community members who need a mask will get the chance to meet Heartland United Way’s new director of community connection. Eric Garcia-Mendez will be working with community partners in identifying gaps in available services for community members for whom English is a second language and/or are culturally diverse.
The masks are being made possible by a Blue Cross Blue Shield grant awarded to the Heartland United Way. Each masks will come with information on how to properly wear and care for it in four languages: Arabic, English, Somali, and Spanish.
