HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The first day of December will be another above average day as high temperatures warm into the mid to upper 40s. There will be an increase in clouds from the west as the day goes on. For areas near and west of Highway 281, winds will take more of a northwesterly turn and increase. In Central Nebraska, winds will be up around 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to around 25 mph. In western parts of the Local4 viewing area, expect winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

Winds will remain blustery out of the north tonight as cloud cover continues to thicken up. After midnight, there will be a slight chance for light snow or flurries for parts of Central and Western Nebraska. Amounts should be light and I don’t anticipate too many travel difficulties. Some of that light snow will continue into Wednesday morning, but will shift south by the afternoon. In total, snowfall amounts will likely be under an inch. The chance for snow will be even lower or non-existent as you go to the northeast. Expect overnight lows in the 20s tonight. Highs on Wednesday will be in the 30s and lower 40s with the warmest temperatures in the southeast. Winds on Wednesday will remain blustery out of the north at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Thursday will be a day back to near average high temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Cloud cover will be clearing through the day. Expect plenty of sunshine Friday through Monday with warmer, above average highs temperatures in the upper 40s and low to mid 50s. It could be a bit breezy this weekend.
