Get past today’s chill and we’ve got some nice early December weather on the way

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Today will be the chilliest day of the forecast. Temperatures will struggle the most in the west where skies will be mostly cloudy to overcast. Highs there will mostly be in the mid to upper 30s. For the eastern half of the area, there will be most sunshine with partly to at times mostly sunny skies. High temperatures will rise into the low to mid 40s. One thing that will make it feel colder is a brisk north winds. In the east, wind won’t be as strong at 5 to 15 mph. In the west, they will be stronger at 15 to 25 mph.

A few clouds will linger around tonight, but will start to clear later in the night from northwest to southeast. We’ll see lows in the 10s and low to mid 20s. There may be some lingering clouds early Thursday morning for southeastern areas, but sunshine will quickly take over. We’ll see a warmer day with highs into the mid to upper 40s. Northwest winds won’t be too bad at 5 to 15 mph.

Friday will be a nice way to wrap up the work week with plenty of sunshine. Highs will range from the lower 50s east to the upper 50s west. Saturday will be a bit cooler and blustery with highs from the upper 40s northeast to the mid 50s southwest. There will still be plenty of sunshine. Sunday may be a bit cooler yet with highs from the lower 40s northeast to lower 50s southwest. There will still be plenty of sunshine.

Warmer temperatures will return for the early and middle portions of next week. Skies will continue to be sunny during this time. We’ll see highs on Monday into the low to mid 50s, likely to be warmest southwest. Temperatures will jump up into the upper 50s and lower 60s for Tuesday and Wednesday. Winds will be a bit breezier during this time.
