HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) -The next three days will be a very mild stretch of weather making us think of mid fall, not early December. We’ll enjoy plenty of sunshine today as high temperatures warm to between the mid 50s east and the low to mid 60s west. Northwest winds will turn a bit breezy at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. This will bring the fire danger in Central Nebraska up to a critical level during the afternoon hours. Skies will remain mostly clear tonight with just some cirrus clouds passing overhead. We’ll see lows tonight in the 20s and lower 30s. Tuesday will be a mostly sunny day as highs will make it to the upper 50s and low to mid 60s. Look for west northwest winds of 5 to 15 mph. One more warm one is expected on a sunny Wednesday with widespread 60s on the way.

It will be noticeably cooler on Thursday with highs in the 40s north and 50s south. Along with the cooler weather will come an increase in clouds. Along with the increasing clouds will come a chance for some rain and/or snow Thursday night into Friday. For now though, I’m only including a slight chance as there is a lot of uncertainty as to how the storm system evolves and impacts the area. While some accumulating snow will be possible, it’s just too early to tell how much will be possible. Some light snow could linger into Friday night. For the weekend, drier weather is expected with increasing sunshine. Highs Friday through Sunday will be in the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s with Sunday likely to be the warmest of the three days.
