A winter storm caused several accidents and at least one closed road Wednesday morning.
Nebraska 511 reported that Highway 30 between Elm Creek and Gibbon was closed because of poor driving conditions. A tweet from the Buffalo County Sheriff’s office indicated that traffic was moving as slow as 25 MPH early Wednesday.
Interstate 80 near the west Grand Island exit was closed for a short time while emergency crews cleared an accident scene.
The Merrick County Sheriff reported on it’s Facebook page that the courthouse in Central City was closed Wednesday because of poor weather conditions.
Conditions seemed especially poor in the Broken Bow area. A picture tweeted by the Custer County Emergency Management office showed snow packed roadways and poor visibility. Nebraska 511 reported that Highways 2 and 92 were closed in various places in Custer County.
