GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Three Grand Island juveniles were arrested or cited following a joyride in a stolen vehicle over the weekend.

According to Grand Island police, the incident happened on Saturday. Police said a parent of one of the children called police notifying them that their son had ran away and stolen her vehicle.

Officers attempted to contact the three boys who were seen running from the vehicle near O’Flannagan Street. Police said the three were located a short time later and arrested.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine release capsules were located in the vehicle along with marijuana and paraphernalia.

Police arrested a 12-year-old boy for Theft by Unlawful Taking, Obstructing a Peace Officer, Possession of Controlled Substance (Amphetamine), Possession of Marijuana (less than one ounce), a 14-year-old boy for Possession of Stolen Property & Obstructing a Peace Officer, and 12-year-old boy was cited for Possession of Stolen Property & Obstructing a Peace Officer.
