HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Southwest winds will be back on the blustery side on Wednesday at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Expect plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures. Highs on Wednesday will range from around 50° north to around 60° southwest. A cold front will come through during the afternoon. There’s isn’t a lot of cold air with it and in fact very few clouds. There will be a shift of winds to more west and northwesterly.

Temperatures will come down a little on Thursday, but with lighter winds and mostly sunny skies, it will still be pretty decent. Highs on Thursday will range from the mid 40s north to the lower 40s south. We’ll see more clouds and cooler temperatures on Friday. Highs will mostly be in the 30s with a few lower 40s in the southwest.

We’ll have to watch the weekend as plans could be impacted by at least some wintry precipitation. At this point, it does not look like a major winter weather event. Timing and types of precipitation are still quite a bit uncertain this far out, but there could be some minor impacts. The greatest chance of snow currently resides in Northern Nebraska. Some may see a mix of snow with freezing rain, sleet, or rain. Meanwhile, temperatures will remain near or a little bit below average in the 30s. Monday, the chance for precipitation is pretty low. Highs will remain mostly in the 30s.
