HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Showers and thunderstorms will linger in Eastern Nebraska Friday morning. The rest of the area will remain mostly dry for the day Friday. Skies will become partly to mostly sunny. Clouds may hold tough for much of the day for eastern areas. High temperatures on Friday will range from the upper 60s east to the low to mid 70s elsewhere. There will be a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday night. The best chance will be in Southwest Nebraska and Northern Kansas, closer to a stalled out boundary. Those areas will have a similar threat of severe storms as Thursday evening. Isolated large hail and strong wind gusts will be possible. Lows Friday night will be in the upper 40s and low to mid 50s.

Much of Saturday will be dry with mostly cloudy skies. There is a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms, but a slightly better chance will be Saturday evening and overnight. Chances favor Southern/Western Nebraska and Northern Kansas. Highs on Saturday will mostly be in the low to mid 70s. A chance for showers and thunderstorms will continue Sunday and Sunday night. Highs on Sunday will mostly be in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

A slight chance for rain and thunderstorms will still be possible Monday and Tuesday, but the best chances will continue to remain to the south and west. With rain chances being a little lower, these two days could end up being a big warmer than expected. For now, I’ll go with highs in the low to mid 70s. A better chance for rain and thunderstorms will move in Wednesday. Highs on Wednesday will be in the upper 60s and low to mid 70s. More of the same could continue into later next week. During much of this time, lows will mainly be in the 50s around the area.
