HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It will be a slightly breezier day today, with southeast winds of 5 to 15 mph. The strongest winds will be out west. Plenty of sunshine is expected with another day of mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s with some lower 90s out west. With some passing clouds Tuesday night, lows will drop into the 60s.

Winds will turn a bit breezier for Wednesday and Thursday, out of the south at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph. Heat will begin spreading east into more of the area.
Highs on Wednesday will push into the mid 80s east to the mid 90s west. On Thursday, highs will mostly be in the 90s with the warmer upper 90s in the west.

Friday may be the hottest day of the forecast into the mid to upper 90s. It could get above 100° out west. Many will see triple digit heat index values. Like the previous two days, it’ll likely be dry. Saturday through Monday will bring slight chances of showers and thunderstorms to the area, but most will likely miss out on precipitation. Temperatures will likely remain quite warm in the low to mid 90s and a few reaching the upper 90s. At this time, it looks like the rest of July right into early August will remain hot and mainly dry.
