HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) -The stalled out front in Southern Nebraska tonight will begin to lift north as a warm front Friday. This leads to the greatest change to the forecast as a larger part of the area may experience another day of heat. High temperatures on Friday will range from the lower 80s northeast to around 100° southwest. The Tri-Cities now look to get into the lower 90s. It’ll also be humid, so another day of high heat index values of 105 or higher will be possible in the southwest. Friday and Friday evening, the best chance for showers and thunderstorms for any one area will occur. It currently looks like the best chance will be to the north and northeast of the Tri-Cities. Some severe storms will be possible. The best chance for showers and thunderstorms in the Tri-Cities will come Friday overnight into the early morning hours Saturday as they shift southward.

With more clouds on Saturday, this may be the coolest day for a majority of the area with highs in the upper 70s and low to mid 80s. It will still remain muggy. The last of the rain chances will shift south of our area Saturday night into Sunday. Most of Sunday and Monday will likely be dry. High temperatures will remain just a bit below average in the low to mid 80s. Temperatures will remain similar on Tuesday and Wednesday, although there is an outside chance for a shower and thunderstorm.
