Hastings Museum seeing progress with front lawn renovations
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Some major renovations were recently completed to the front lawn of Hastings Museum. The long-awaited project included beautification elements and rerouting sidewalks along their statues leading up to the front doors.
Museum Director of Marketing, Becky Tideman, said, when people walked up to their building, there were a handful of items they would notice.
“Our front patio, we’re so excited,” Tideman said. “The sod is in, the cement is poured, the trees are planted, our foundation has been repaired, our fountain has been resurfaced and we just can really see all the progress and because of that, our front doors are back open.”
The front doors were opened to the public once again as of last Wednesday. Previously, the concrete path led directly to the front doors, but the project now allows people to get a more up-close look at the statues.
Coming to the museum in spring 2022, they planned to add an outdoor classroom to their front lawn to allow kids to come and learn in, as well as a more than 6-foot statue of the Kool-Aid man.
