HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Winds will wind down overnight. Skies will remain clear overnight and into the day tomorrow. We’ll see morning low temperatures range from the upper 20s west to the lower 40s east.

Sunshine continues for tomorrow and Saturday with a warming trend expected. Temperatures will warm up into the upper 50s and low to mid 60s (warmest west) tomorrow afternoon. Friday night into Saturday morning will be chilly again with lows from around 30° southeast to around 40° northwest. Saturday will be our warmest day with highs from the upper 50s northwest to around 70° south. A cold front will push southward through the area Saturday afternoon, but bring only a few clouds. Once that front pushes through, winds will take a northerly turn and become rather breezy.

Colder air will come spilling south Saturday night and into Sunday. Clouds will also be spilling south over the area. Expect a much chillier day on Sunday (Halloween). High temperatures on Sunday will range from around 40° north to around 50° south. You’ll want to make sure those trick-or-treaters are bundled up when they head out for the evening. By the evening, a little light rain and/or snow will slowly spill southward into the area. Initially, this should be mainly rain, but there could be a change over to snow as it gets colder. The better chance of snow will be in our western counties. While this should mainly be light snow, a little accumulation can’t be ruled out. This chance will continue into Monday as temperatures will be slow to warm. Eventually high temperatures may only get to the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s.

Precipitation should come to an end Monday night. With some partial clearing of skies, it’ll be the coldest night of the season so far. Temperatures in the 20s will bring an end to the growing season for everybody. For now, we’ll go with partly cloudy skies for Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures continuing to remain chilly. Temperatures will mostly remain in the 40s for highs. Lows will continue to be in the 20s Tuesday night.
