Dogs go trick-or-treating in Downtown Hastings
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Dogs in costumes took over Downtown Hastings for the second annual ‘Downtown Trick or Treat Dog Walk’ Saturday morning. Twelve businesses welcomed the dogs to their doors by handing out treats for them to enjoy.
Arturo Aguilar and his eight month old German Shepard participated in the event. His dog wore a suit-and-tie costume while they walked around to check out the downtown. Aguilar said the event had been a success.
“It’s been really nice,” he said. “I’ve been meeting lots of cool new doggies and lots of cool people, lots of cool owners and stuff, you know. So, it’s been really nice. Got a cool food truck right around the corner, good burritos around here ... it’s been real nice.”
Cards were handed out to participants to be stamped each time they visit one of the businesses. Anyone who had taken their furry friend to all twelve stops had the chance to be entered into a drawing for the grand prize from the Art Bar.
