HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Around 30 vendors set up booths inside of the Zion Lutheran Church Saturday, offering people homemade gifts, crafts and other items. The ‘Fall Vendor Show’ brought out people to enjoy the shopping festivities and offered hot dogs and hamburgers.

Marsha Swan of Hastings, said she came out to the vendor show for a reason.

“It’s just good getting out amongst people, getting out of the house ... finding things you didn’t expect like, my little container,” Swan said.

Swan said, it’s nice seeing others support local businesses and to have these types of events in times like these.

“That makes me feel good because this thing with COVID has just been terrible and trying to get supplies, trying to get nice little things for people that you love,” she said.

Swan added, while she was out shopping, she had noticed a shortage with clothes, paper plates and many empty shelves.

Dave Rotch, a vendor at the event, was selling some of his homemade items for his first time Saturday. He said this vendor show offered people another route to take for buying holiday gifts.

“They make great gifts and with Christmas and the holidays coming up, it’s nice that people have a place to go to get something that they can give and that will be used,” Rotch said.

He continued to say, he had a few people come by and purchase some of his goods a couple hours into the event.

“It’s encouraging because I know that the people that get them, these microwave bags that I have here, and then given as gifts to families and friends and they’ve really enjoyed them over the years,” he said.

The vendors were set up by 10 a.m. Saturday morning and packed up around 4 p.m., concluding the day of fun, visiting and crafts.
