HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Overnight skies will remain mostly clear with winds picking up again after midnight. Temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 20s and lower 30s. Meanwhile, there will be some thicker clouds for a time over southwestern areas. We’ll also see some thicker clouds move into the north and northeast. Towards tomorrow morning, there could be some snow flurries in far northern and northeastern parts of the Local4 viewing area. Some flurries or light snow will still be possible for parts of Eastern Nebraska tomorrow morning before moving off to the east in the afternoon. That is where the thicker clouds will be with more sunshine the farther west and southwest that you go. It’ll be quite windy again, but with colder temperatures. High temperatures on Friday will range from the mid 30s northeast to the upper 40s southwest. Winds will again be quite strong out of the northwest at 20 to 40 mph with gusts of 40 to 60 mph. There is a high wind warning for counties north of Interstate 80 overnight tonight where gusts could reach 60 mph. Tree damage and power outages are possible in and near the warning area. Winds will start to relax Friday afternoon from west to east with the breezy conditions holding on longer to the east. Much of the night, skies will remain clear tomorrow night. This will lead to some cold Saturday morning lows as they fall to the upper 10s and low to mid 20s.

Clouds will be on the increase Saturday, but so will temperatures. Highs will range from the upper 40s northeast to the mid/upper 60s southwest. Winds will be breezy at 10 to 20 mph, but nowhere near as strong as these next two days. Later Saturday night into early Sunday morning, an upper level disturbance will bring a slight chance for rain. It may remain warm enough that snow isn’t a concern, but it will be close. It will also drop some slightly cooler temperatures into the area for Sunday. Highs will range from the upper 40s northeast to the upper 50s southwest. Winds will be breezy again.

We’ll see a brief warming trend heading into early next week. On Monday, skies will be partly to mostly sunny as temperatures rise into the 60s and lower 70s (warmest west). Tuesday will be warmer yet with highs into the upper 60s and low to mid 70s. Winds will be breezy again on Tuesday. A cold front will bring a big drop in temperatures for Wednesday as highs will be back down into the mid to upper 40s and lower 50s.
