HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The month began with some blusteringly hot days, but since Autumn arrived, our weather has been as close to perfection as one can imagine. September........we’re sad to see you go. The last day of the month will end on a pleasant note, as we bask in temperatures in the lower 80s under a sun drenched sky. I may be a bit breezy with south winds 10 to 20 turning gusty at times, but we’ve had a whole lot worse. But, with lower humidity, the wind could put parts of southwest Nebraska in an elevated fire risk, especially with temps in that region pushing into the upper 80s to perhaps near 90. The rest of the state will be in the 70s (east) to 80s (central and west).

Looking toward the weekend, temperatures will remain in the 80s on Saturday with only slightly cooler temperatures on Sunday. The weekend will again have a modest breeze so the fire threat over southern and southwestern counties will have to continue to watched. Next week an upper level trough will track through the Northern Plains promoting cooler temperatures, but still near normal for this part of the season. We will maintain at least a small chance for some rain Monday into Tuesday, but amounts will be light.

Tri-Cities...Warm weekend then cooling down next week.
