Warm and breezy through the weekend with big changes arriving early next week
October 1, 2022
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It was another warm and breezy day today as we saw most places reaching the low to mid 80s except for spots well west and east as clouds dampened temperatures keeping highs in the 70s. As we head into the overnight, skies will start off clear in central spots but could see a few mid level clouds push through in the early morning hours. Lows tonight will mainly be in the low to mid 50s with a few spots possibly seeing upper 40s, especially out west in the panhandle.
Sunday will be warm and breezy with highs back into the 80s around the area. Most rain will remain west of highway 83 in Western Nebraska. Lows will continue to mostly be in the 50s. A stationary front in the western part of the state will nudge a little more east on Monday. Many across southern and eastern parts of the area will still get highs into the low to mid 80s. To the north and west, cooler 70s will move in. Clouds will also thicken up with some showers moving in to those cooler areas. As the front slowly drifts southeastward Monday night into Tuesday, we’ll see rain chances also move southeast.
With more clouds around, highs on Tuesday will be in the upper 60s and low to mid 70s. Showers will be out of here on Wednesday and sunshine returns. Highs across the area will be in the 70s. Another shot of colder air coming in from the north will bring a nice taste of fall to the area. High temperatures on Thursday will range from the mid 50s north to the mid 60s south. Friday could be even colder as a much colder air mass moves south behind the front. Some spots could see their first frost come Friday morning. This cold front may bring some moisture as well. There is a slight chance of precipitation Friday. Temperatures may be cold enough for some wintry mix. But as for now, it’s too soon to tell.
