Tri-City Storm punch ticket to Clark Cup Playoffs with 6-3 win
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - It’s hard to fathom, but we’re already nearing the end of the USHL regular season, and entering Friday night - the Tri-City Storm still had some work to do to earn a spot in the postseason.
However, they’ve been skating like it, winning three of their past four games heading in to a 2-game weekend series with the Sioux Falls Stampede.
Fortunately for the home fans, the Storm didn’t leave much doubt Friday night.
Jake Richard netted the game’s first goal just five minutes into the contest to put the Storm up 1-0, and the floodgates opened after that.
Second period goals from Charlie Kinsman and Cam O’Neill lifted Tri-City to a 3-0 lead and they never looked back in a 6-3 win to officially punch their ticket to the 2023 Clark Cup Playoffs.
